Mercedes has teamed up with Kleemann to design their first official GTK concept – which will be an in-house production. The design for the new GTK is “based on the unique Kleemann design code of elegance and simplicity acknowledging the Nordic design traditions of simple and organic shapes.”
That apparently means a Reventon snout, a Castagna Aznom front fender treatment, and sharper SLK lines from the A-pillar back. The GTK is actually based on the SLK 55, and gets a Kleemann Kompressor system, 20-inch Kleeman wheels and 8-piston Kleemann brakes in front and 4-piston out back. That “kompressor” means the little roadster puts 540 HP and 516 lb-ft through its 7-speed auto box.
At the Frankfurt Auto Show you can be sure to see a great range of new vehicles and new concepts that will either impress you or make you wonder what they were thinking. Mercedes is ready to show off their list of vehicles and on the top of that list everyone is looking forward to catch a glimpse of the F700 concept.
The F700 concept will be equipped with Mercedes new and revolutionary 1.8L turbocharged DiesOtto engine. Even though this engine may be smaller than a normal engine it has more power. It can deliver 238hp and 295ft-lb. of torque, while returning fuel consumption of around 39 mpg in a large S-class saloon.
Every year we see new vehicle ideas and ones that may not be so good. As always we can expect great things when it comes to Mercedes, especially for the 2009 model year, which is planning to be a great year. Mercedes will be releasing a premium ’soft-roader’ and a very unique one at that. The 2009 GLK will be shown to the public in the middle of next year. We estimate that this brand new model will cost around €35,000.
