Mercedes-Benz 'E Class' - Page 4

2007 E-ClassDiscussing about the changes to the 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class only takes five minutes if that, so the German automaker brought in a little help to fill the remaining 20 minutes of its New York auto show press conference. Hanging from the ceiling was a giant Tesla coil along with a handler who helped to conduct its massive bolts of electricity. It was supposed to show consumers the all new “energy” of the E-Class.

E320 CDIConsumers of diesel vehicles are generally in two different categories: the pragmatists, who admire such cars for their efficiency, durability, and grunt; and the iconoclasts, who prefer on the oil burners’ more unsavory aspects-noise, blue smoke, and fill-up locations that require rubbing shoulders with the Peterbilt crowd. With its new E320 CDI sedan, Mercedes-Benz-creator of the first diesel car in 1935-will appeal to the former group and alienate the latter.

1996 E-ClassThe Mercedes Benz E Class finally meets its master. This year, an extremely unusual change in the overall image of the vehicle takes place. The new E Class cars are now larger than the previous model line. More space has been allocated for the head, leg, and shoulder rooms.

Three models come available. They are the E300D, E320 and E420. The E300D contains a 3.0-liter in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine that meets California emission standards. The E320 has a 3.2-liter in-line 6-cylinder engine, whereas the E420 is powered by a 4.2-liter 275-horsepower V8.
