Mercedes-Benz 'Uncategorized'

Mercedes C320 DieselWe thought that hybrid vehicles we going to be the next best thing for cars and something that will help us to save on gasoline – but it looks as if some people have other ideas that may work better. Solazyme – a biotech firm in California is testing the use of algae fuel to power vehicles of the future. They will be testing their theory on a Mercedes C320 diesel by driving it around the Sundance Film Festival.

2009 CLK-ClassMercedes-Benz is looking forward to selling the 2009 CLK. Why? Because it is one of the few vehicles that does not take much money to build, which in turn brings in more profit for them. It shares some of the same characteristics as the normal C-class sedan, but it will be selling for $10,000 more. Hence, the nice profit.

That math finally has caught on with the competition. For example, the upcoming Audi A5 coupe/convertible is based on the A4, the two-door BMW 3-series cars will be priced more like a theoretical 4-series, and the second-generation Lexus SC will be GS-based but positioned between the GS and the LS. There is no doubt that the increased competition will cut into the CLK’s market share pie.

Sports TourerOne Mercedes vehicle that we do not hear or see very often is the Sports Tourer. The Tourer debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 2004 and was designed in two variants. The Europian version, the “Vision R” Grand Sports Tourer and the “Vision B” Compact Sports Tourer. It is quickly becoming a versatile vehicle for any type of consumer.

Design, dynamism, dimensions, these are the shared hallmarks of the Sports Tourers which make them individual and distinctive. The design lines with their striking front ends emphasise the muscular and active nature of the Sports Tourers, which are equipped with high-torque CDI diesel engines.
