Over the four years of its production life, the current E-Class has brought in a million buyers worldwide, and in 2005 it accounted for fully one-fifth of all Mercedes-Benz vehicles sold.

2007 E-ClassDiscussing about the changes to the 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class only takes five minutes if that, so the German automaker brought in a little help to fill the remaining 20 minutes of its New York auto show press conference. Hanging from the ceiling was a giant Tesla coil along with a handler who helped to conduct its massive bolts of electricity. It was supposed to show consumers the all new “energy” of the E-Class.

2007 E-ClassMercedes-Benz has delivered its 25-millionth vehicle since production begin in the year 1945. The milestone vehicle, a new generation E-Class, was delivered to the owner of a Munich taxi company at the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre in Sindelfingen.

The first postwar Mercedes-Benz passenger car rolled off the line here in Sindelfingen more than 60 years ago, said Dr. Eberhard Haller, Vice President and Manager of the DaimlerChrysler plant in Sindelfingen.

That vehicle marked the beginning of the ascent of Mercedes-Benz to become the worlds most valuable and successful automobile brand. Todays handing over of the 25-millionth Mercedes-Benz is a special occasion that will further motivate both the staff in Sindelfingen and the entire Mercedes-Benz organization.
