The 2007 L.A. Auto Show was the perfect place and time for Mercedes-Benz to introduce their new C63 AMG to the fans in the United States. The C63 AMG was shown off in a pearl white paint job high on a platform and was personally introduced by the head of AMG – Affalterbach.
A beautiful car being given a great introduction is something that we couldn’t miss out on. Showing off the 451hp, 6.3L, V8 powered Mercedes was one of the highlights of the show.
The Mercedes C-class has long labored in the shadow of BMW’s 3-series, a wistful also-ran in the entry luxury-sports-sedan sweepstakes. To be fair, corporate wistfulness has been tempered by frequent bank deposits. Over the course of its long history, Mercedes is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its entry-level sedan this year, the company has produced and sold some six million of them.
In Stuttgart, Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled the all new 2008 C-Class that will be going on sale later this summer. As usual, the car is larger in all dimensions than the previous model. The new C-Class will be available state-side in two trim levels, Luxury and Sport, with both models sharing what is called Agility Control Steering, Agility Control Suspension and Agility Control Gearshift.
